quick question...

What is a sensible maximum of actors to have on the stage at any one time before it starts getting a bit too crowded?

Can someone send me a link to some good advice and Scriptfrenzy guidelines about writing a musical? For instance, am I allowed to include song lyrics in the word count if they are my own lyrics? Do I have to write down information about choreography etc?

New project--need help outlining and choosing format

Now that my first script is successfully completed, I find that another plot I'd had on the back burner for a while is begging to be written. I had planned to write this as a novel, but I could also see it as a screenplay--or even, (and this might be a little tougher) as a stage play. How do you decide on format? Heck, I could even make this a 3 episode tv movie mini-series.

I also need help on how to make a good story outline. My story has a clear starting point, and the ending point is basically one of two options--but I know which one my MC seems to be leaning towards. The trouble is the middle--how the MC gets to my point B. I have only vague ideas about this. I was hoping that writing a screenplay would force me to iron things out, but is there an easier way?

I even have a working title. I just have no idea what this thing is supposed to be. I'm passionate about the story and would like to get it published, in whatever form it decides to take. Is one format easier than another in this respect?

Thanks for all your help!

I finished Scriptfrenzy with 102 pages.  Hard work, no lie.  Although I did kind of cheat (Ok, I didn't cheat, a lot of people do it)..I wrote 2 scripts.  The first part after 50 pages was basically done, so the second one was an Idea I had for a book for a while.  I think I'll write the book in May.  But Whoop!!  Last day f April and lots of hard work.  And I should just take some time off and not write, but it's so hard to just give writtinhg a break.  I think I'll go read my book for a while now though.

So...now what?

Last night, I finished the entire screenplay, at 110 pages. I fine-tuned the formatting, triple-checked for errors, and turned it in. Now the site shows me as a winner, and while it was incredibly exciting to finally meet that goal, I'm now wondering...now what? They don't keep the scripts once they're validated, they just delete what you send. I've never done this before, and didn't have anyone doing it WITH me, so there's no one to really celebrate with (in person at least) now that it's all done. I feel like I'm coming off a sugar crash now, just trying to figure out what to do with this huge file, now that there's nothing left to win with it.

So I'm wondering now...when you're all done with your scripts, what are you doing with them? Are you going to try and sell them? Enter them in some writing competitions? Act them out for friends or bigger audiences? Or just file the script somewhere, never to be seen again? I'm really curious to see what others have/are doing, after the thrill of finishing is gone.

Need to add just a little more--suggestions?

My script is done, at 92 pages. (Counting the title page--I don't much care about that, more on why to follow, keep reading...) I am very pleased with how it came out, and though I will edit it later on, I don't see a lot of places to pad it. So, I was thinking of doing the sorts of things you'd see on DVD extra features. I know I will do an interview with the writer about the film (grin), but I really don't think I can spin that out for 8 pages, and can't think of any "deleted scenes". Suggestions on what to add?

Thanks much in advance!

old school

It's getting late in the game, and surely people want to sprint.  I do, and I've already passed the finish line.  It'd just be nice to actually finish this script, yeah?

So, from right now, 5:55 Mountain Time USA, until Midnight, same time district, I will be doing screnzy sprints.

Those are the times each sprint will start.  Don't be the first one to talk, even if I'm the only one in there.  Because I (or we) may be sprinting.

Chatroom name: LastMinuteScrenzy
If you need me to do an invite, my AIM is: SaviourFalling
To invite yourself, right click anywhere on your buddy list, type in your own name in the invite field, type in the room name and hit enter, easy as that.

See you all there!

No one showed up during the first two and a half hours, so I've decided nevermind.  I know it was on a short notice, but I realized just how tired I actually am. *yawns*
